About the Internship Programme:

The CCI internships start every month; the maximum strength of the batch can be fifteen interns at a time. However, there is scope for more applications, particularly if some exceptional candidates propose interesting research topics complying with competition laws.

  • Submission of Application: Interested candidates should submit their applications in the prescribed format, as provided in Annexure. Any deviations from the prescribed format will not be entertained.
  • Recommendation Letter: Ensure your application includes a recommendation from a competent authority at your academic institution. Applications lacking recommendations will not be considered.
  • Statement of Purpose: Craft a succinct ‘Statement of Purpose’ outlining your research topic and study objectives in approximately 200 words.
  • Submission Deadline: Applications must reach the Competition Commission of India by the first of the preceding month to the intended month of internship.
  • Mode of Submission: Applications can be sent via post to the designated address or emailed to internships@cci.gov.in. Remember to superscribe the envelope with “Application for Internship for Month/Year”.

Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for this internship opportunity, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Indian Nationals: The internship is open exclusively to Indian nationals.
  • Educational Background: Candidates must be enrolled in recognized institutions or universities with exposure to competition law. Students with confirmed placements are ineligible to apply.
  • Specific Educational Qualifications: Eligible courses include MA/MSc. in Economics, MBA, LLB, LLM, MA/MSc. in Regulatory Governance, and final groups of Chartered Accountancy, Cost Accountancy, or Company Secretary.

Internship Details:

Successful candidates will be paid a monthly allowance of Rs. 15, 000 during the internship. Certificates will be awarded at the end of their work, highlighting their immense contribution to the commission.

The internship period usually ranges from one month, and the period will commence on the first working day of the month. However, those with the required reference from their various universities can apply for an extended internship period of two to three months.
